Meet the AGLG

Ms. Basia Ruta is British Columbia's first Auditor General for Local Government. A Chartered Accountant, she was educated at the University of Ottawa, is a member of the Ontario Institute of Chartered Accountants and has more than 30 years of notable experience in business and the public sector.

Why the AGLG

The Auditor General for Local Government was established by the Province of British Columbia through legislation. By conducting performance audits, we provide local governments with objective information and advice to help them be accountable to their communities for their stewardship of public assets and their achievement of value for money in their operations.
